Dinos Win Third Straight, Trounce Maple Mountain

The Carbon Dinos have responded with three straight wins after dropping their first five of the season, including a dismantling of 4A Maple Mountain Wednesday afternoon, 13-0.

During its winning streak, Carbon has outscored its opponents 38-9.

Cole Fossat went five innings of two-hit ball while striking out six for the win. He also added a single and a walk in the batter’s box.

Anthony Maclean led the Dinos with four hits in four at-bats, which included three singles and a double with two RBIs. Talon Abeyta knocked in a game-high three runs on 2-3 from the plate with a double and a triple. Trey Richardson went 3-4 on the afternoon. Five total players had at least two hits in the game en route to 16 total team hits.

The Dinos came out hot, notching three runs in the first inning. They added four more in the third, two in the fourth and four more in the sixth to round out the blowout.

Carbon (3-5, 0-0 Region 12) will play at Union (2-5, 1-0 Region 10) on Tuesday. The Dinos smashed the Cougars 13-1 on March 16 to commence their current win streak.
