Press Release

The Utah Department of Motors Vehicles has has officially relocated from their location on Price River Drive to the Carbon County Administration Building at 751 East 100 North Suite #1500 starting Monday, June 26.

Carbon County officials were approached by representatives from the DMV with a proposal to rent space in the building. Commissioners and other county representatives worked together to determine if they could facilitate this request. After careful consideration and a strategic plan, the commissioners voted to move forward.

Many factors contributed to the decision to move forward from the conveniences to the community to providing easier collaboration between the DMV and Carbon County Clerks/Auditors and Assessors. The DMV will pay rent to the county that will go directly to the general fund.

“This project required collaboration between the DMV and many departments within the county,” said Carbon County Commissioner Casey Hopes. “I have to say thank you to all those involved with the planning, moving and renovating of both locations.”

Carbon Recreation relocated to the Event Center in the community building in late May. The building has been undergoing renovation to add office space and storage for the recreation department.

“Moving our department to the Event Center has proved to be a great decision,” said recreation director Frank Ori. “It has been much easier all around for me and my employees.”

The DMV will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, contact the Carbon County Clerk’s office at (435) 636-3200 or the Price DMV at (800) 368-8824.
