Playing without three starters, the Carbon Lady Dinos were outgunned against Manti Monday afternoon in a 22-2 non-region loss.
Head coach Kirk Nunley looked at the absences of three starters as an opportunity for others.
“Having three starters out hurts, but the younger girls need to step it up when they get a chance to show they have earned a shot to stay at the varsity level,” he said. “We have been out scored 37-2 in just two games. Too many errors have been a large part of both losses.”
Carbon committed 10 errors in the game.
The Dinos (5-14, 3-5 Region 12) will host Spanish Fork (16-5, 7-0 Region 12) Tuesday then travel to Delta (9-12, 1-5 Region 12) on Friday. Carbon will finish the season Monday against Emery in Price.
