What is a county fair without contests to test your abilities and give you chances to win BIG? The on-stage mini contests will take place between the entertainment acts on the stage under the pavilion and include butter sculpting, watermelon seed eating/spitting (both sponsored by Jason Chaffetz), the Food Ranch donut eating contest, the Fatty’s hot dog eating contest, and many more fun activities all with $100 cash prizes for the winners!
The dance competition may very well be one of this year’s largest events featuring celebrity dancer Chelsie Hightower! It will begin on Saturday, August 5 with a one-hour dance camp that will take place at the Spartan Center at 3:30 p.m. The dancing fun will then move to the fairgrounds where the dance competition will begin at 5 p.m. and Chelsie will be judging! All details can be found at the website under the Register for Events tab, where you will want to pre-register and save your spot! The dance camp is $25 and includes a custom T-shirt, and the dance competition is $40 with prizes valued at over $1,000!
Another big competition is The Voice of Emery singing competition and will be judged by Greg Hansen, an award-winning professional composer, record producer/arranger, and new age recording artist! There will be two categories, which are ages 17 and under and 18 and over. Duets are allowed! The grand prize for each category is a recording session with Greg Hansen in his own private studio to record a song of your choice! This is such a rare and grand opportunity for all of the singers in our area! There are still a couple spots open in each category, but are filling up quickly so don’t wait!
