DWR Press Release

On Saturday, June 13, the Division of Wildlife Resources will sponsor its annual Kids’ Fishing Day at the Gigliotti Pond in Helper. From 8 a.m. until 11 a.m., the DWR will lend fishing equipment and bait to those who don’t have their own.

“Personnel will also be on-hand to help parents and their children have a fun and successful fishing experience,” said Brent Stettler, DWR regional conservation outreach manager. “Before the event, the pond will be stocked with fish.”

There will be prizes for kids under 14. Prizes may be picked up when the family leaves the pond.

To get to the pond, drive to Helper and leave U.S. Highway 6 at Martin Street. The pond is at the far end of the street.

Gigliotti Pond is accessible to persons with special needs. There’s a restroom at the pond as well as cement sidewalks and fishing bays.

The event is free of charge. No pre-registration is required. For more information, call the DWR office in Price at (435) 613-3700.
