The USU Eastern men’s soccer team traveled to Salt Lake City on Thursday to take on the Salt Lake Community College Bruins.

The Bruins are currently ranked fifth in the nation and were tough competition for the Eagles. USU Eastern was able to hold the Bruins to 2-0 in the first half of the game. Unfortunately, the Eagles weren’t able to contain them any longer and the Bruins took the win, 8-0.

The Eagles then traveled to Reno, Nev. over the weekend to take on the Truckee Meadow Lizards. After a tough loss on Thursday against the nationally-ranked Bruins, the Eagles did not give up.

The Lizards took the lead first, 2-0, but the Eagles put up a fight and tied it up, sending the game into overtime. The Eagles were victorious and took the win, 3-2.

USU Eastern will hit the field again on Saturday, Sept. 21 in Craig, Colo. to take on the Colorado Northwestern Spartans at 11 a.m.
