An accident occurred on Highway 10 early Monday morning at approximately 8:50 a.m. involving a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer.
According to Utah Highway Patrol, the driver of the pickup truck was traveling southbound when they crashed into the back of the trailer, which was at the time stopped and waiting to make a left hand turn.
As a result from the accident, the driver of the pickup truck had to be extricated from the vehicle. After being extricated, the driver was transported to the hospital with a possible broken hip and broken bones to the legs. The front and side airbags were deployed inside the pickup truck and possibly prevented more serious injuries to the driver.
Traffic was slowed in both directions while emergency crews extricated the driver and cleared the scene. Names of the individuals involved have not yet been released at this time.
