A long fourth of July weekend ended with tragedy after a vehicle rolled off a steep mountain road near Scofield reservoir. Three people were traveling on the west side of Scofield around 1:40 a.m. when their vehicle went off the road and rolled down a steep embankment approximately 100-150 feet. All three individuals were thrown from the vehicle.

Brooke Tomadakis, 22, of Price was killed and two were injured. One of the individuals were taken by Air Med to Utah Valley University Hospital. The other was taken by ambulance to an unknown hospital.

Carbon County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Tom Stefanoff did not identify the driver of the vehicle, stating the matter is still under investigation. He did confirm alcohol was suspected as a cause of the crash.
