Earthquake Rumbles Through Emery County

According to University of Utah Seismograph Stations preliminary earthquake reports, a “light earthquake” hit Emery County at approximately 9:27 p.m. Wednesday.

The website quake.utah.edu reported the earthquake registered a 4.1 magnitude with an epicenter approximately six miles northwest of Orangeville.

According to the website, the exact coordinates were 39 deg. 17.5 min. N (39.292N), 111 deg. 7.7 min. W (111.129W).

Various broadcast news stations reported the incident almost immediately.

Facebook posts indicated the quake was felt as far away as Colorado.
