The Sunnyside Park was full of bright colors, happy faces and holiday fun as youngsters gathered to scoop up eggs in the annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday afternoon. As is tradition for many hunts in the local area, the park was divided into age categories for more fun.
Instead of boasting the usual colorful plastic eggs, however, the eggs in this hunt were genuine eggs that were dyed beforehand. Miner’s Trading Post took on this tradition, once conducted by the Rotary Club. Local firefighters assisted to boil and dye the eggs.
The traditional use of real eggs has taken place since the 1950s. The city would like to thank all that helped make the event a success.
