Twelve children were treated to an evening full of joy and amazement Thursday as the Emery County Sheriff’s Office hosted their Shop-With-A-Cop event.
The event, aimed at helping local children during the holiday season, paired up two children from each of the county’s elementary schools with members of the local law enforcement as they took to the aisles of Price’s Wal-Mart to find holiday treasures.
Due to a grant received from the Wal-Mart foundation, generosity of locals as well as leftover funds from last year, each child was given a $200 allowance to spend on their holiday wishes.
The children for the program are selected by the county’s various elementary schools.
