On Wednesday, the Emery County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) was contacted by Addie Cantwell, the daughter of Katherine Cantwell, who was concerned because she had not heard from her mother for several days.

The sheriff’s office was able to confirm that Katherine had been staying at Millsite State Park, though she reportedly left the park at the end of her reservation on June 13. There are other locations on the desert of Castle Dale that Katherine was known to enjoy that the ECSO has checked to no avail.

Addie stated that Katherine is traveling alone but is with her cat, Hazelnut. Her vehicle is a 2020 white Mercedes Sprinter Van and the license plate number is T230NB. The sheriff’s office stated that Katherine is now listed as a missing person and any individual that has seen her van should contact the ECSO Dispatch Center at (435) 381-2404.

“I have not spoken to her in eight days, which is extremely unusual,” stated Addie. “She has been traveling for a year and always lets me know where she will be.”
