The Emery High School marching band will play in the Days of ’47 Parade in Salt Lake City on July 25.

Band director Ben Carrol said, “I take my students up to this parade because it’s not a way expensive trip, and it is a really good experience.”

Carrol said the band would practice for nearly six weeks to prepare for the event.

Band member Mckayla Worthen said, “This is the hope and dream of every young marcher because we spend years and years waiting to go to this parade.”

This year’s band is bigger than usual with 71 students; however, only 45 will march in the parade.

This marks the third year the EHS band has played in the parade.
