Among the items discussed by members of the Elmo Town Council at a recent meeting were a new door for the fire station and new sprinklers for the baseball field.
A large portion of the meeting was dedicated to deciding how to handle the weeds growing on town sidewalks and gutters that are in need of cleaning. Though no official solution was reached, the idea of using those in need of community service hours to do such work was mentioned as a likely possibility.
The council also put together a priority list of streets in need of curbs and gutters. The first road on the list was West Elmo Road. Approximately five other roads were also added to the list. The curbs and gutters for these roads are expected to take at least another two years to finish.
