The Emery High baseball team defeated Delta 7-3 in Castle Dale on Tuesday to close out the regular season.
The win clinched third place in Region 10 for the Spartans.
Emery out hit Delta 10-2 thanks in part to a brilliant effort by winning pitcher Geren Payne.
Delta’s Kyle Church had the game’s only extra-base hit.
Tuesday was senior night; this year’s seniors are:
Tanner Ewell, Nick Stoddard, Kash Jewkes, Jacob Tuttle, Gage Bell, Chance Huntington and Nathan Mecham.
Emery will travel to Cedar City on Saturday to face off against Wasatch in the first round of the State Tournament at Canyon View High School.
