The Emery High boy’s basketball team traveled to Richfield to compete in a two-day tournament at the Sevier Valley Center over the weekend.
On Saturday, the team played the Hurricane Tigers. The game was close in the first half but the Tigers were able to take five-point lead into the locker room. Hurricane’s James Bennion was on fire in the second half and netted five three-point buckets, which helped to secure the win over the Spartans, 64-49.
Emery center Kevin Butler led the Spartans with 15 points alongside Dillon Wilstead who ended with 13. Tai Justice racked up 11 points on the night.
The Spartans will return to their home court as they host Delta Wednesday night and Manti Friday night. Both games will begin at 7 p.m.
