The Emery County Care and Rehabilitation resident of the month for November is Alta Ekker.
Ekker is the 98-year-old mother of four children, including two daughters and two sons. She has 58 great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild.
Her daughter Bertha Robison credits her as the hardest worker she has even known; however, she always had time to have fun with her family.
Ekker was a fantastic cook. She and her husband owned and operated a cafe for 18 years. She was famous for her delicious pies, which people would go out of the way for.
“We are all so proud of my mom and love her dearly,” Robison shared. “She has a deep faith and a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. She is a beautiful example to her family and all that know her.”
