Jed Behling was born in Ferron, Utah to Richard and Frieda Behling.

He spent his childhood playing in the blue hills, searching for the perfect swimming hole, working on the family farm and helping to raise and sell fruit from their orchards.

During his teenage years, he was known to have “a need for speed.” He was often caught racing a car and has had his share of speeding tickets throughout his life.

Jed served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was stationed in Germany. He later returned to Germany, where he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

In 1965, he married Karrie Lee Duncan in the Manti Temple.

Together they had eight children. Their posterity is now 31 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His sweetheart passed away from cancer in 2012.

Jed’s passion in life is farming. There is nothing he loves more than to level a field, cut and bale hay and to drive a John Deere tractor. He mainly raised alfalfa and corn. He also raised and sold livestock. He has a love for all animals.

Jed has a tender and compassionate heart. He has served many people over the years. He is known for his kindness and is loved by all who know him.

Jed has been a resident of the care center since November of 2016. Each day, his grandkids look forward to a visit with grandpa to get a hug and a treat.
