The Emery County Commission met Tuesday morning in Castle Dale to discuss a variety of topics concerning the residents of Emery County.

Commissioners approved a memorandum of understanding between Emery County Emergency Medical Services and the United States Department of Energy. Commissioners explained that the approval essentially means any contamination of the County’s emergency vehicles that is caused by the Department of Energy will be charged to the federal government.

Commissioners approved an amendment regarding creation of the Emery County Travel Bureau; however, they explicitly stated the bureau would not change its normal course of business.

Commissioner J.R. Nelson reported a recent visit to the Lawrence Cemetery revealed dilapidated fencing and other unacceptable situations. The Commission voted to begin advertising for bids on a new fence.
