Emery County Economic Development Director Jordan Leonard presented to those in attendance at the county’s business chamber luncheon on Wednesday. Leonard took time to explain local and state incentives that are available for Emery County businesses.
Leonard was joined by Ryan Murray from the Small Business Development Center at the beginning of the luncheon to discuss Custom Fit. The state-legislated program is designed to increase economic development through training to all for-profit businesses in the state. Custom Fit helps businesses assess training needs, procure and/or facilitate training and help pay for up to 50% of the training cost. For more information on the Small Business Development Center and Custom Fit, please contact Murray at (435) 613-5460.
Another local incentive discussed by Leonard was the Emery County Economic Development Committee Retail Incentive Program. The program aims to enhance the vibrancy of the overall retail mix of the county with a matching grant for eligible businesses. A revolving loan fund is also offered by the county. Leonard also spoke about the Rural Fast Track Grant, which is a 50% matching grant that can be used for expanding a business, purchasing equipment or buying a building.
“Somewhere, someone is looking exactly for what you have to offer,” Leonard said.
