Emery County Fair Brings the Community Together

The Emery County Fair started last Wednesday with free swimming at the Emery County Aquatic Center followed by a children’s parade. The evening’s fun continued with a few hot dogs, chips and Cold Stone ice cream. A Zumba Dance and Color Me Fun color event preceded a movie in the park at the Castle Dale Fairgrounds.

Thursday’s entertainment started with Just Because and a free lunch for senior citizens. Elephant rides and shows, a dance competition, a cupcake competition, a county-wide town versus town talent show and a lamb fry led up to a family game night. The evening ended with a teen activity at the Emery County Aquatic Center.

On Friday, community members enjoyed a pet show and an adorable baby contest. Community members also enjoyed a fishing pond for prizes, a cupcake eating competition for kids and dad versus son baseball. Entertainment was provided by LaRae’s Dance Studio, Miss Emery and Little Miss Emery, Margery Chadburn and the Hypno Hick. The evening ended with a teen dance.

Saturday began with a 5K run sponsored by the Emery boys’ soccer team. The morning continued with a parade followed by a kids’ rodeo. Vendors, the animal exhibition, reptile shows and elephant rides and shows continued from Thursday and Friday while Margery Chadburn and the Hypno Hick returned to entertain. A Happy Spotlights talent show was held for those with special needs before A Fear Factor competition, a strong arm competition and a BBQ cook off provided plenty of opportunities to show off talents. The finale of the fair was the free concert featuring CAM and Austin Webb.
