On Saturday, the Emery County Fair paid tribute to a unforgettable event that took place 10 years ago: the Crandall Canyon Mine disaster.

This tribute came in the form of a concert headlined by Collin Raye, who was last seen in Emery County nearly 10 years ago for a similar tribute concert in memory of those that lost their lives in the mine disaster. Ryan Shupe and the Rubber Band also delighted crowds at the concert as the opened the stage for Raye.

“On August 6, 2007, our community was devastated by the Crandall Canyon Mine Disaster. Nine lives were lost that day and the following days during the rescue efforts,” the Emery County Fair Committee shared. “On the 10th anniversary of the Crandall Canyon Mine Disaster, we honor those heroes who sacrificed their lives and those rescuers who tried to save lives once again.”
