Emery County Now Home to Multiple Young Businesses

Many new businesses officially call Emery County home following a ribbon cutting ceremony last week. Young business owners celebrated the occasion with friends, family and the Emery County Business Chamber on Wednesday.

These businesses stem from local youth that attended the Bright Ideas workshop for junior entrepreneurs in June. Youth ages eight to 17 were invited to learn from local leaders about how to start and grow their own business.

The workshop taught attendees how to launch a business and provide excellent customer service as well as how to brand and advertise their product. Local youth also got a crash course in problem solving, critical thinking and more.

In the weeks that have followed the workshop, youth have been working to expand their business and gain new customers. This journey will reach its apex on Thursday, Aug. 2 at the Emery County Fair. There, these junior entrepreneurs will be selling their products to the public from 5 to 7 p.m. Members of the community are invited to browse their offerings and support the young entrepreneurs at the Emery County Junior Entrepreneur Kids’ Fair.
