The Emery County Travel Bureau and Roger Brooks International are presenting an
Assessment Findings & Suggestions Workshop on Thursday, May 5, 2016.
For nearly a full week, the Roger Brooks Team will secret-shop Emery County taking nearly 200 photos in the process. On Thursday, May 5, Roger Brooks will showcase, over two hours, a no holds barred look at what he saw and experienced as a first-time visitor. This includes curb appeal, shops, restaurants, customer service, parking, business and community signage, activities, parks, local amenities, and what kind of first impressions the community presents. The good news: For every challenge Brooks saw, he’ll offer low-cost solutions to help increase business revenues and visitor spending. He will also present ideas on how the county can become a showcase destination for investments, as a place to live and a place to visit. Brooks is the top-rated keynote speaker in North America on the subjects of community branding, downtowns, and tourism marketing. The presentation will be entertaining, enlightening and, as Brooks often notes, “I can say things perhaps you’d like to say, but can’t without paying a political price. I can be honest and objective as an outsider and first-time visitor. Is this a place I’d like to start a business? Raise a family? Or come as a tourist?”
Brooks will also share valuable information including the fact that 70% of first-time sales can come from curb appeal. And 70% of all consumer retail spending takes place after 6:00 p.m. He’ll discuss how these apply to Emery County. Who should attend? Local businesses, retailers, lodging facilities, restaurants, attractions, elected officials and municipal staff people, the general public and those interested in seeing what an outsider saw and thinks of Emery County.
