The Emery Spartans advanced to the 2A Semifinals with a 48-32 win over the Delta Rabbits Thursday afternoon in Richfield.
With the win, Emery will now take on Summit Academy in the semifinals Friday night at 9:10. Summit upended Waterford 68-58 in the game before Emery’s.
Bowdie Jacobson led all scorers in the game with 15 points on 4-10 from the field. Koby Butler, struggling with an illness, added nine points on just 2-9 shooting. Kolton Butler nailed two threes and finished with nine as well. Easton Gordon came off the bench and hit two threes.
In a slow first half, Emery nailed four threes in route to just 19 total points. Delta finished the half with just 12. Emery’s stifling defense continued to wreak havoc in the second half as well, giving up just 18 Rabbit points.
Delta was as close at nine, 33-24, after a 6-0 run spanning the end of the third and the beginning of the fourth, but Emery responded with a 6-0 run of its own to get the lead back up over 10.
