The Lady Spartans visited 5A Springville (4-2) on Tuesday night. They took control with a 16-4 first quarter and maintained that spread at 34-22 with one quarter left to play. Springville made a huge surge and overcame the 12-point deficit to tie the game with 39 seconds left on the clock and force overtime.

Springville grabbed the edge in the additional period as the Lady Spartans missed a huge opportunity and failed to close out the game. Springville defeated Emery 46-43.

Kiri Cook, Hailey Allred and Baylee Jacobson all reached double-digit scoring with 13, 11 and 10, respectively. Tambrie Tuttle recorded a team-high 12 rebounds. Emery’s 18 turnovers loomed large in the loss.

The Lady Spartans (3-2) will look to rebound against another good 5A school, Salem Hills (4-2), on Thursday in the Spartan Center. The game will be broadcast live on ETV Channel 10 and online at etvnews.com.
