The Emery Frosh basketball team traveled to Cedar City for the Larry H. Miller Summer Games, playing an eight-team tournament in the 3A+ division. The tournament started with pool play on May 31, with the official tournament beginning on June 1. The single elimination, with a consolation bracket style, brought the Emery Varsity team and underclassmen team (Frosh) to compete.

The Emery Frosh was matched up with Hurricane in the first round, advancing to the second round with a win, 46-35. Next, they played Canyon View for the Semi Final matchup. The game would stay fairly close, but the Frosh advanced again with a win, 49-41.

Going into the Championship Gold Medal game, the Frosh were set to compete against Richfield. The game was an absolute battle, with Richfield staying close, refusing to go away. The game would end in a very close, 41-39, as the Frosh claimed the golden hardware. The recipients of the medals were Jaxon Butler, Garrett Conover, Krae Leroy, Ben Johansen, Kai Whitesel, Logan Lester, Kysler Koffard, Jess Larsen, Maddex Taney, Elias Hascall and Myles Mortensen.

“Kids have been working really hard this summer and doing a great job learning the system and playing together. Excited to continue playing together. We are excited to continue playing the rest of the summer and for basketball season,” said Coach Dave Justice.
