Emery took on undefeated Manti Friday night at home where they broke their opponents win streak with an 88-87 upset.

The game was close, ending up tied at the end of the first, second and third quarters. Manti came out fast, scoring most of their points on fast breaks in the first half while Emery’s Kevin Butler got in foul trouble early. Koby Butler picked up the slack and ended up with 12 points on the night.

Emery switched up their defense in the second half and slowed down Manti’s pace. Manti ended up shooting 23-32 from the line while Emery went 8-17. Dillon Wilstead ended up with a game high 26 points. Tai Justice’s 22 points and Tyson Roper’s 16 points were able to help pull off the 88-87 win over Manti.

Emery’s freshman and junior varsity teams also picked up wins. Emery will travel on Monday to take on Merit Academy.
