Ashlynn Allred won the 100 and 200-meter races at the Region 15 track championships to lead the Emery High girls track team to a first place finish. The boy’s side placed third behind Grand County and Richfield. Emery placed third overall after 32 combined events.

“This is what the team has been training for all year,” said Emery Track Coach Kevin Reynolds. “To have our girls come out against some really hard competition and show other schools that we aren’t playing around and to win the title of region champs is a huge accomplishment.”

Having placed fifth overall out of 38 1-2A schools last weekend at the BYU Invitational, the track team had high expectations going into the region tournament.
