Emery High School cheerleaders had an impressive showing at the statewide cheer competition over the weekend.
“Words cannot describe how proud I am of these girls,” said Denise Staker Smith, one of the cheer coaches for Emery High. “They gave it absolutely everything they had this weekend and more.”
For the first year competing in the state pom event, the Lady Spartans walked away with a third-place finish. Spartan Tiana Jensen also took first in the 3A state jump off competition.
“Besides being amazing athletes, they are seriously such amazing kids,” Staker Smith said.
