Emery High Basketball team competes in summer tournament

The Emery Spartans boy’s varsity basketball team competed in a tournament over the weekend. The team traveled to Salina for the two-day event.

Fourteen teams in all competed at the tournament. Emery played Juab and North Sanpete on Friday, winning both games. The Spartans then played Manti and Gunnison on Saturday, walking away with wins against both competitors.

A win over Gunnison was huge for the Spartans who lost earlier in the year to the team in the state semifinals, 49-46.
