The Emery High choral group presented their annual Christmas concert Monday evening. Under the direction of conductor Mr. Bird, men’s, women’s and combined choruses sang various Christmas carols. The 11-member men’s choir performed “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” and “We Three Kings.”
The women’s choir sang “December’s Keep,” “Shout Alleluiah” and “Winter’s Lullaby.” Following a special presentation of “Up on The House Top” by Mr. Bird’s young daughter, the combined choirs favored the audience with “Brazilian Carol,” “What Child Is This?” and “Angels in Seven.”
The concluding number was done with house lights dimmed and each choir member holding a single candle while they sang “One Bright Star.” The choir was accompanied by Merilee Cox and special accompanist Eileen Lofthouse.
