The Emery High Rodeo Club hosted its state rodeo on Friday, Sept.11 and Saturday, Sept. 12. It was a preference rodeo, meaning competitors had to choose which time they desired to enter: Friday night, Saturday morning or Saturday afternoon. This is a state requirement for venues that do not have three arenas. The Sevier Rodeo Club was hosting its rodeo at the same times, so the rodeo trail was busy on those days.

High school rodeo athletes placing in the top ten and earning points were Ryter Ekker in the light rifle with ninth and seventh place finishes. Shalako Gunter, also in rifle, placed 10th. In the reining cow horse, Byron Christiansen was second, Zeek Weber took eighth and Monty Christiansen finished in 10th.

In bareback riding, Kayson Jensen earned first and Byron Christiansen took second. Cole Magnuson was second in bull riding followed by Byron Christiansen in second. Cole Magnuson also earned sixth place in tie down roping. In breakaway, Megan Zunich earned fourth, Graycee Mills was fifth and Abbie McElprang finished in seventh.

Junior high shooting sports took place at the same time as the high school. In the Emery junior high light rifle shoot, Haylen Willis was ninth, Kyle Ekker earned fourth, Wyatt Fox took fifth and Robert Thomas finished in 10th. In the Sevier Shoot Wyatt Fox fourth, Kyle Ekker fifth and Jaxon Butler eighth.
