Emery County Sheriff’s Office personnel participated in an active shooter exercise at Emery High School on May 20.

This annual training is put together by Emery High teacher Neal Peacock and his drama students.

ECSO SERT leader Sgt. Tom Harrison stated that both the students and ECSO personnel look forward to this training each year. Each year the students put together scenarios that challenge the ECSO responders.

With screaming students in full moulage and smoke-filled hallways, the stress level is high and responders get a glimpse at what an actual active shooter event might be like.
