Emery hosted a wrestling duel against Delta on Friday evening.
Byron Christiansen (106) started off the duel well for the Spartans by pinning his opponent. The next four matches did not go in Emery’s favor and all resulted in losses. Bryar Meccariello (145) put the Spartans back on the board with a major decision win. McKay Meccariello (152) followed up with a decision win before Agustus Dalton (160) pinned his opponent to get Emery back in the match.
The Spartans were awarded two more wins by forfeit in the later rounds to go into the last match down, 33-31. They were unable to win the final matchup and fell 39-31 to Delta.
Emery will travel to face rival Carbon on Dec. 28. The match will be streamed live online here.
