Emery and South Sevier dueled on Tuesday night inside the Spartan Center. Merritt Meccariello got the Spartans on the board first with a 7-0 win in 113. Sid Christiansen lost by just two points in 120, but then Emery ripped off three straight pins to take the lead. Byron Christiansen (126) improved to 5-0 on the year with his pin. Jarin Allen (132) and Hunter Hopes (145) also pinned their opponents in the second round.
The Rams came fighting back with pins in 152 and 160, but it was all Emery from then on out. Tyler Stilson pinned his opponent in less than a minute in 170. Hayes Dalton (195) and Braden Howard (220) also finished with pins while Jaxton Woodhouse won by major decision (11-3) in 285. The Spartans went on to win 55-21. Up next, Emery will head to the Christmas Clash this weekend.
