The Central Utah Junior Rodeo (CUJR) Club sponsored two rodeos over Labor Day weekend. These rodeos at the Spanish Fork Arena proved to be great for many Emery Junior Rodeo members.

On Friday, Aug. 30, in the girls’ breakaway, Shaynee Fox placed fourth and Ryleigh Allred finished ninth. Ethan Gilbert earned third, Stace Gilbert took sixth and Orrin McElprang finished ninth in the boys’ breakaway. Girls’ goats found Graycee Mills in third. She also placed fifth in the barrels and first in the poles that same day. McElprang and Zane Magnuson won the team roping while Dalton Allred was second in the bull riding and Monty Christiansen third in the bareback steers.

On Saturday, Aug. 31 at the CUJR-2 rodeo, many of the same contestants placed again. In the rough stock arena, Allred was first and McElprang second in the bull riding. In the bareback steer riding, Christiansen placed fourth. Allred was first in saddle bronc. In girls’ goats, Fox took seventh and Maddison Nelson finished eighth. Girls’ breakaway placers were Mills, first, Fox, second, and Allred, seventh. Mills was fifth and Allred tenth in the poles and sixth in barrels.

The junior high clubs now have a break until the first weekend of October when they will compete at their own rodeo at the Carbon County arena.
