The Emery Spartans played their last game of the season as Delta knocked the team out of the state tournament on Friday. Emery fell behind in the sixth inning to take the loss, 3-2.
The Rabbits took a small lead from the first inning to the fourth when Emery notched its first run. The Spartans added one more in the fifth to take the lead, 2-1. Delta rallied in the sixth inning, scoring two runs to gain the one-point lead. Emery was unable to make up the deficit, suffering the narrow 3-2 loss to push them out of the state tournament.
The Spartans finished their season with a perfect 12-0 record in Region 12. The team took only six losses on the season while notching 20 wins.
