Emery hosted Union Thursday in a junior varsity match up. The Cougars ended up ahead by eight at halftime. The Spartans came out strong in the second half.
Quarterback Zach Jorgensen, connected with Austin Allred on a long passing play to set up Devin Miller for a five yard rushing touchdown . Union answered with a long passing touchdown with 53 seconds remaining in the third quarter.
Emery struck back scoring on a nice fourth down pass play from Jorgensen to TJ Lacock. The Cougars were able to score with 19 seconds left in the fourth, locking in the 21-12 win over the Spartans.
Emery’s varsity team will travel to Roosevelt today to take on Union.
