The Emery Spartans traveled to South Sevier for a Region 15 matchup on Friday. A big second half for the Rams allowed them to pull away from Emery and take the win, 60-44.
The match was closely contested throughout the first half. Emery dropped 10 points in the first and 14 in the second to trail South Sevier by only one point at the half, 25-24.
A productive third quarter set the Rams ahead of Emery as they outscored them 14-8. Emery was not able to dig itself out of the hole as it earned their first loss in region play.
Dillon Wilstead led the Spartans with 11 points followed by Bowdie Jacobson with nine. Tai Justice also dropped in nine points, all of which came from behind the arc.
Emery will now regroup before hosting Grand on Wednesday. Grand sits at 0-13 on the season while the recent loss drops Emery to 9-6.
