It was a bittersweet night for the Spartans as the team hosted the North Sevier Wolves on Senior Night, sending the team away with a 6-1 victory under their belts.
The night opened with a tribute to teammate Ethan Winter who was involved in a fatal vehicle accident last November. Winter was a prominent member of the Spartan community, especially on the field where he had helped his team en route to many victories in previous seasons.
Riley Rasmussen, Jacob Huntsman, Dallan Ward and Kolton Butler all found the net for the Black and Gold during the night while Juan Caicedo also managed two for Emery.
As of Friday afternoon, the Spartans currently sit second in region and overall standings in the 2A Central region. Emery has finished with a 9-3 region record and an 11-4 overall, coming behind top-place finisher Manti.
Emery’s placement for the 2017 state tournament is still being determined. Check back with ETV 10 News for updates on Spartan Soccer and other teams in the Castle Country area.
