The Spartans’ Dawson Jensen scored a career high 23 points Friday night in an upset win over Richfield, 56-49.
Dallon Cologie and Jordan Cox each scored 9 points apiece for Emery. The Spartans attempted 28 free-throws compared to just 19 for theВ Wildcats. Emery hit on 19, compared to just 13 for Richfield.
Emery entered the region matchup trailing the second-place Wildcats by two games. With two region games remaining, the Spartans can overtake Richfield for second place with wins to finish the season. Richfield finishes the season Friday at home against first-place South Sevier. Emery next hosts Grand Wednesday and visits San Juan Saturday.
