Emery wrestling dueled six different schools over the weekend at the Juab Winter Classic. The Spartans defeated Copper Hills 53-30, Monticello 48-36, Richfield 45-33, Snow Canyon 48-33 and Springville 45-33. Their lone loss was to Millard, 21-56.
There were several wrestlers that stood out in the duels. Byron Christiansen (106) went a perfect 6-0 in his matches with six pins. Augustus Dalton (160) was also undefeated with four pins and a 5-0 recored. Korby Christiansen (126) went 5-1 with four pins as well. McKay Meccariello (152) and Chase Christiansen (138) ended 4-1 and 3-1, respectively. Chase hurt is shoulder over the weekend but the hope is that he will not miss too much time. Emery is also hoping to get Bryar Meccariello, who got injured last week, back soon.
The Spartans will duel S. Sevier on Wednesday night in the Spartan Center. The matches will be streamed live online here. Then they will travel to participate in the Viewmont Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
