Emery outscored its opponents 33-4 in two victories this week while the baseball team split a pair of games.
The Lady Spartans picked up their fourth-straight victory Tuesday, crushing South Sevier 18-1, then followed that up with another impressive win the next day against North Sevier 15-3. Emery has won five straight games and nine of its last 10, overall. Whitney Roper and Jeridi Price has solid outings on the mound picking up wins, while they both produced a home run, double, and a triple, combined.
The Lady Spartans (11-3, 3-0) will next take on San Juan in Blanding on Tuesday. Emery and Monticello sit in first and second place, respectively, in the Region 15 standings.
Emery Baseball pounded the visiting South Sevier Rams Tuesday 20-2 behind a great outing from starting pitcher Brandon Oliver. Oliver picked up his third victory of the season. The 20 runs and 17 hits in the game were both season highs for the Spartans. Emery then lost a tough road contest at Carbon Wednesday 8-2. Jordan Cox picked up the loss on the mound to even his season record at 2-2.
Emery (7-5, 3-1) will next travel to San Juan with the softball team to take on the first-place Broncos (7-4, 5-1) on Tuesday.
