Leigh Bloomer approached the Ferron City Council on Thursday to inquire about the possibility of the Emery Spardettes sponsoring a 5K run during Peach Days, which will be September 3–6 this year.
Leigh explained to the council that this type of fundraiser would help the girls with a variety of expenses that they incur throughout the year.
The council gave their approval but explained that the Spardettes will have to decide if they will sponsor the Fun Run or the Lite Brite Run. In addition, the Fun Run falls during the same time as the Little Grand Canyon Marathon on Sept. 6. Neither runs are currently sponsored.
