The Emery Spartans boys’ and girls’ cross country teams traveled to Moab on Tuesday to stretch their legs in the region competition.
The golf course proved to be lucky ground for the Spartans teams, who both placed well and are on their way to the state competition. The girls’ team landed in fourth place and the boys’ nabbed first, winning region overall.
The state competition is slated to take place on Oct. 17 at Sugarhouse.
