Emery Swim Continues to Dominate at Home

The Emery swim team welcomed three other teams to its home meet on Thursday. After an afternoon of back-to-back, the Spartans again took first at the meet.

Emery started the meet strong in the girls’ 200 yard medley relay with three relay teams taking first, second and third places. The boys followed shortly after, taking second place. Deegan Minchey, Keldan Guymon, Parker Stilson and Asher Beagley teamed up and received a time of 1:52.52.

Minchey returned in the boys’ 200 free for a first-place win for the Spartans and a time of 2:05.76. Kaelee Hooley also took first in the girls’ 200 free with Alexis Johansen following in third.

BriAnne Brass swam an impressive 28.17 in the girls’ 50 free with Sydney Terwilleger tying with North Summit’s Delanie Robertson for second place with a time of 29.08.

Beagley swam in the boys’ 100 fly to snatch a second-place spot and a time of 1:07.25. Taylor Durrant also competed in the event, receiving a time of 1:48.03.

BriAnne Bass, Alejandra Garcia and Hannah Morris all competed in the girls’ 500 free, sweeping the competition for the top three places. Stilson followed with a first place win in the boys’ 500 free, coming in with a time of 6:18.83.

Emery’s Eme Oliverson swam a 1:30.30 in the girls’ 100 backstroke for the second-place spot. Keldan Guymon dominated in the boys’ 100 back with a time of 1:01.34.

Bass, Hooley and Johansen teamed up with Angellena Migliori in the girls’ 400 yard free relay to round out the girls’ team with a final first-place win and a time of 4:27.59. Emery’s Levi Olsen, Eli Beagley, Jonathan Seely and Allen Durrant followed with a 4:09.81 in the boys’ 400 free relay.

Emery’s girls took first at the meet with 462.5 points, beating North Summit’s girls by nearly 140 points. The Emery boys slipped into second place with 393 points just behind North Summit.
