Emery Swim Defeats Gunnison, Rowland Hall

Emery High welcomed Gunnison and Rowland Hall to the Emery Aquatic Center last week. The Spartan relay teams got Emery going with wins in the boys’ and girls’ 200 medley. Haley Guymon won the first individual event for Emery in the 50 free. She went on to finish first in the 100 breast later in the day. The Spartans dominated the boys’ 50 free with Elias Morris, Kyler Minchey and Matthew Hanson going 1-2-3, respectively.

Abby Johansen took the 100 free while Kaelee Hooley won the 500 free. Matthew Hanson finished first in the 500 free as Elias Morris went on to grab his second first place spot of the day in the 100 back. He was followed by teammates Asher Beagley and Dax Minchey in second and third, respectively.

The boys’ 200 and 400 free relays proved winners as Emery did enough to end on top in both the boys’ and girls’ team scores.

Overall in the girls’ competition, Emery won 381 to 310 over Rowland Hall. The Spartans blew out Gunnison 366-163.
