The third-year Emery High School swim team lost 200-136 to a seasoned Uintah squad Friday in Vernal.

The Emery girls scored 65 points on the strength of first place finishes by Hailee Rogers and Jessica Guymon.

Rogers won the 100-yard Freestyle and 200-yard IM events. Guymon won the 100-yard Butterfly, edging out her sister Laryssa Guymon.

The Emery Boys scored 71 points on the strength of first place finishes by Tyler Rowley, Colton Clement and Weston Allinson.

Rowley won the 200-yard Freestyle and 500-yard Freestyle events. Clement won the 100-yard Butterfly, and Allinson took the 100-yard Backstroke.

The girls also won the 200-yard Medley Relay, and the boys won the 400-yard Freestyle Relay.
“I think we did fabulous!” said Allinson, who serves as the team’s captain. “[Uintah] is a very developed swimming team. We came in here and showed them what a little three year swim team can do.”
