The Emery Lady Spartans traveled to Price on Friday for matchups against Carbon and Union.
Against Carbon, Emery was able to sweep the doubles matchups but was swept in all singles matchups by the Lady Dinos.
In #1 singles, Carbon’s Vanessa Dimick beat Emery’s Aubryanna Migliori 6-1 6-2. Carbon’s Gabby Wall upended Emery’s Sam Roberts in #2 singles 6-0 6-1. Carbon’s Chelese Nielsen, playing #3 singles, beat Kianna Pittman of Emery 6-3 6-3.
First doubles partners Shaylynn Rowley and Teran Miller from Emery slipped by Vivian Baker and Inez Johnson from Carbon 6-3 4-6 6-4. Alexis Johansen and Alyssa Hess beat Carbon’s second doubles team of Casey Christiansen and Tayle Wilkenson 6-2 4-6 6-4.
Against Union, Migliori was beaten 6-0 6-0. Roberts beat the #2 singles from Union 6-3 6-3. Same result for Pitman but with a score of 6-3 7-5.
In doubles action, Rowley and Miller were narrowly defeated after winning the first set. Scores were 4-6 6-4 6-3. Johansen and Hess were beaten 6-4 6-4.
Carbon will be back in action on Tuesday in Price. Emery will travel to Gunnison on Tuesday and Delta on Thursday.
